#ThankYouUAE: 7 Opportunities You'll Find as an OFW in the UAE

[caption id="attachment_3968" align="alignnone" width="800"]Mydubai Thank You UAE, OFW, Dubai, Filipino Opportunities as an OFW in the UAE.[/caption]

Dubai has been my home for the past nine years (and 6 months to be exact), although things are not 100 % smooth sailing, as surely there were numerous bumps and blocks along the road. I can’t imagine what my life would have been if I didn’t go to that job interview in Dusit Makati (Philippines) nine year ago.

[caption id="attachment_3960" align="alignnone" width="800"]Mydubai Thank You UAE, OFW, Dubai, Filipino Overlooking Down Town Dubai from the Burj Khalifa[/caption]

I arrived in Dubai just a month after my college graduation. Fresh out of getting a degree in architecture, I never thought that Dubai will be the place were I will start practicing what I’ve learned ( or I thought I learned) from my five-year college training. Uncorrupted and full of dreams, I landed in the sandpit one summer evening and my life changed forever.

Surely there are a lot of things to rant about (aside from the summer heat) but this blog is not about that. More than the tears and sleepless nights are things that I am grateful for. Dubai became my promise land and a stepping stone for greater things in the future. What I am today, I owe it all (well most of it) to this wonderful city.

As an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), every country we are into is an opportunity for us to earn money in order to provide a better life for our families back in our mother land. This was my main motivation every time I hop on a plane leaving the Philippines. But apart from that, I know that most of you will agree with me that being in a foreign land presents numerous opportunities that sometimes we are guilty of neglecting.

As I shout THANK YOU to the country that has been my home and welcomed me with open arms, I thought of enumerating other opportunities that we can find as a Filipino living as an expat in the UAE.

Opportunities to Find Your Dream Job

[caption id="attachment_3968" align="alignnone" width="800"]Mydubai Thank You UAE, OFW, Dubai, Filipino Dubai Media City and Internet City (My work area!)[/caption]

Filipinos are known to be everywhere. Every corner of the world you can see Filipinos as part of a city’s building blocks. Dubai is no exemption to this.

To be honest, nine years back ( 2006), I didn’t know what and where Dubai is. I asked around and during that time, not a lot of people from the Philippines even heard of this city. The only thing I got (from those who knew about Dubai) is that it is a city that is currently being developed to be a modern and central hub of the Middle East (and the location of the only 7-star rated hotel in the world).

As a new member of the labor force, I was very excited to have my first architectural training in a city known for its thriving architecture scene.

Fast forward, today, you can see expats everywhere (yheap a lot of Filipinos). This is a testament that Dubai provides a lot of work opportunities. Part of building this city is also building its labor force. Although the system is not (yet) perfect (there will be a future blog about this ^^), it is still a great blessing to a lot of Filipinos aspiring to do well in their professional careers. I can say that this country gave me opportunities to work for royal families and luxury brands such as Cartier and Carolina Herrera. I also met a lot of Filipinos who excelled and became great leaders in their own field.

If you are new here in Dubai or dreaming of going here and look for a job, start sending your CVs out. Let them know you exist. Dubai is still in need of talented people waiting to be discovered. You might get your dream job soon.

Opportunities to Express One’s Faith

[caption id="attachment_3961" align="alignnone" width="800"]Mydubai Thank You UAE, OFW, Dubai, Filipino Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center in Abu Dhabi[/caption]

One of the things I packed during my first trip to Dubai was my Bible. I remember my mom packing and wrapping it securely because she was concerned that as a country in the Middle East, being a Christian will not be tolerated.

When I arrived in Dubai, I was shocked that a Christian church exists here. In fact there is a compound devoted to all Christian churches. I can say that being here in Dubai even helped with my spiritual growth.

Aside from Christianity, you can also see other religious practices being welcomed in the UAE. With a diverse set of people in one city, it is given that not everyone will have the same religious beliefs. I love how this nation embraces that and integrated it as part of the country’s culture and heritage.

A few weeks back, the Hindu Festival of Lights was highly celebrated around the city. Buildings were lit with beautiful pixie-lights and fire works were everywhere. Although I am not a Hindu, I celebrated along with my Indian friends….and I loved it! A few weeks from now, we Christians will be celebrating Christmas, and right now, you can already see Christmas trees and ornaments in all public establishments.

I love that aside from Ramadan, we can also experience other religious celebrations without any prejudices. Respect is the key, if you respect other’s beliefs and stop judging people based on their differences, people will end up respecting yours.

Opportunities to Discover Your Passion

[caption id="attachment_3964" align="alignnone" width="800"]Mydubai Thank You UAE, OFW, Dubai, Filipino My Surat Journal. Check it out at www.suratjournals.com[/caption]

I arrived in Dubai thinking of just working as an architect, sit inside my cubicle and stare at my computer. After nine year, I will be sad if this is still what I am doing.

Dubai is a melting pot, not only for cultures and nationalities but also to a lot of opportunities that will fuel your passion. Dubai opened doors for me to become a blogger, an artist and also an entrepreneur. Of course like everywhere in the world, you’ll have to look for it and grab it by the neck. No one can reach his or her full potentials by sleeping.

Dubai is a new modern city and in need of brilliant minds. Some ideas can be old in your (home) country but in Dubai everything is just starting ---and thriving. My mantra with my craft (www.suratjournals.com) is to create something and make a market for it. I must say, it works!

The beauty about this city is that people from all over the world gather here and for sure somewhere out there, someone is looking for your talent. What are you passionate about? Create a passion journal (you can buy one from www.suratjournals.com hahaha) I guess your first start-up is now knocking at your door (check it out!).

Opportunities To Travel The World

[caption id="attachment_3963" align="alignnone" width="800"]Mydubai Thank You UAE, OFW, Dubai, Filipino Dubai International Airport Terminal 3[/caption]

Being at the center of the world (literally) is an opportunity to become the world’s central hub. This was the vision of Dubai’s leaders that is now a reality.

Almost everyone in Dubai got bitten by the travel bug. Today as I am drafting this blog, several friends of mine are in Prague, Moscow, Amman and London. Dubai opened my eyes with the possibilities of traveling the world. As a Filipino, traveling was not instilled in our skin as everything seems so hard. From getting all the documents ready to a very expensive tour packages. Dubai made traveling simple and easy. The main reason why aspiring travel bloggers like me love this city so much.

Because of its strategic location, almost every place in the world is reachable. Dream of a country right now and start planning! You’ll not regret it!

Opportunities to meet friends from all over the world

[caption id="attachment_3958" align="alignnone" width="800"]Mydubai Thank You UAE, OFW, Dubai, Filipino Dubai Instagrammers!!!! Photo cred: @heraldherrer[/caption]

I arrived in this country without knowing anyone. No family, no friends. I am a complete stranger to a completely new city. Crazy right? It wasn’t easy but meeting new friends helped me a lot.

I found a lot of my so-called covenant friends (yheap, friends for keeps) at my local church. But I can say that it didn’t end there. The beauty of the UAE is that everyday you’ll have the opportunity to meet new friends coming from different countries. Every time I am in a meeting, it feels as if I am in big cultural immersion (I love it).

We just have to open up and welcome people in our lives. I do know someone who doesn’t have that much friends because he is too picky and afraid to get out of his comfort zone. One thing I learned from my short stint in Dubai is that everyone needs someone and you will only know it by reaching out.

Today that I am building myself as an start-up entrepreneur I am happy that I have made a lot of networks with people of the same passion. I love seeing sparkles in everyone’s eyes whenever they tell their stories (and also listening to mine).

Your future friends are out there. Look for a community, I found mine from church, work and believe it or not, through social media (bloggers and instagrammers!!!).

Opportunities to Learn from Great Leaders

[caption id="attachment_3962" align="alignnone" width="800"]Mydubai Thank You UAE, OFW, Dubai, Filipino Dubai Business Bay Bridge Crossing (yheap go under the bridge!)[/caption]

Election is fast approaching in the Philippines and whenever I watch TFC (The Filipino Channel) I always see debates and propagandas relating who should we vote to be in the seat of power. A lot of promises (that meant to be broken ---hopefully not). With all the things going on in the Philippines it is our right to aspire that someday, someone in power can turn the Philippines in a complete 180 degrees and make it great (again).

To have seen how Dubai developed from almost nothing (literally just sand) to what it is now, you’ll know that there is always hope. The leaders of this nation had a vision and didn’t stop until they make things right.

I love how our leaders welcomed us and let us be part in building this mega city that we now call as our home. Of course, it is not yet perfect, I can enumerate things that I don’t like in the system but whenever I talk to my local friends, 90% of the time, they salute their leaders and regard them in very high honors. Something that I would love to feel whenever I talk about the Philippines. Maybe someday it will come.

Opportunities for Self Growth

UAE contributed a lot to who I am now. All opportunities stated above helped me grow in different aspects of my life. Whether it is financial, spiritual, passion and even in leadership, Dubai was a big part of these growth. For the past nine years, I have been independent and learned a lot about myself.

Being away from our motherland, we are exposed to a lot of new things, whether it is cultural that we learned from our friends or new corporate knowledge discovered from our colleagues. Everything new can be an opportunity for us to learn.

Not all stories out there are good, there are some sad and challenging experiences that I know all of us experienced (or experiencing right now) but saying these, these are still things that we should still be thankful for. Every hardship gives us an opportunity to improve ourselves and stand up strong and victorious.

I am thankful that being an OFW here in the UAE presents a lot of opportunities and I am proud to say that I am not the same person who left the Philippines. I changed for the better (I hope).

[caption id="attachment_3959" align="alignnone" width="800"]Mydubai Thank You UAE, OFW, Dubai, Filipino Dubai Creek Side! A place that you shouldn't miss when visiting Dubai[/caption]

To just say THANK YOU UAE is not enough to express my gratitude to this country. I have seen a lot of lives that changed in this nation.

Aside from these seven, there are still a lot of opportunities out there waiting for you. Don't box yourself, be open, look for it, work on it and embrace it.

What are the things you are thankful for here in the UAE? Share it with us in the comment box below.

6 #MYDUBAI Must Try 'Interesting' Food Joints

As October steps in, people in Dubai bid farewell to the scorching summer heat to welcome a bearable and pleasant sunny weather. During this time, you will see expats and locals flocking their way to the nearest and coziest al fresco dining while tourist (and some residents) find their way into a near by beach front.

For the past weeks, I've been hunting down some interesting food stops which I think everyone should try (well, specially those who love to explore our beautiful city). With all the places that I have been to, here are 6 of my favorite food stops!

1. TOM AND SERG

[caption id="attachment_2349" align="aligncenter" width="800"]Tom and Serg food blog mydubai I LOVE THE INDUSTRIAL INTERIOR DESIGN[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_2350" align="aligncenter" width="800"]Tom and Serg food blog mydubai MY BIG BREAKFAST PLATE --TRAY[/caption]

I've been hearing/reading a lot of things about this hipster heaven which can be found in Al Qouz Industrial Area. If you're not staying inside a cave, I think you already know that Al Qouz is the place to be. You can find Raw Coffee, Alserkal Avenue, Bounce and of course Tom and Serg. Hipsters all over the city will surely fall in love with this place.

The interior is simple and clean with a very industrial touch. If you dine at the ground floor you will appreciate the high ceiling and if you are like me, you will enjoy watching the whole place being very busy while the second is a bit cozier and more relaxed.

If you just want to sit down with friends or read a book over a cup of coffee and tasty chocolate mousse or just want start your day with a healthy brunch this place is perfect for you.... and of course, they have WIFI!

Location: Al Joud Center Al Qouz

2. ZAROOB

[caption id="attachment_2351" align="aligncenter" width="800"]Zaroob food blog mydubai CAN YOU BE MORE COLORFUL THAN THIS?...YES IF YOU ARE A RAINBOW!!![/caption]

[caption id="attachment_2352" align="aligncenter" width="800"]Zaroob food blog mydubai ENJOYING OUR LEVANT WRAP[/caption]

A few years ago, wandering along Sheikh Zayed Road, I was always very curious with that bright signage on the building which spelled as ZAROOB. When a friend of mine, asked if I want to try it, I didn't hesitate. Since then, it became one of my favorite  restaurants in the city.

Zaroob which literally means 'small alley' will give you a feel that you are eating in a very artsy street alleyway. Every time that I bring friends here, they always get fascinated on how colorful and vibrant the interior set-up is. A mix of galvanize iron, concrete and even big cans of cooking oil for seating, all you need to is the sound of cars honking crazily while you enjoy a tasty plate of shawarma.

If you are the artsy kind and don't mind dining in a very colorful and busy environment (and if you love food from the Levant Region) this is the place for you.

Check out my friend Lady's latest blog about Zaroob:

TIP: After enjoying the interior decor, try dining outside.

3. SALT (#FINDSALT)

[caption id="attachment_2353" align="aligncenter" width="800"]Find Salt food blog mydubai YHEAP...THAT'S THE LINE[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_2354" align="aligncenter" width="800"]Find Salt food blog mydubai FOUND IT!!![/caption]

Recently I blogged about this new food truck concept. I know that in the US, food trucks are everywhere but here in Dubai, you can only find less than a handful and only a few that are making waves. One of it is SALT. It is located at the heart of Kite Beach. Just look for the bright signage or the long line of salt patrons waiting to get a hold of that tasty Chicken Cheetos Sliders.

If you are more of the outdoor adventurous type or if you just passed by the beach after a long day at work, you should try queuing up and placing an order.

TIP: After finishing you mouthwatering sliders, go around Kite Beach and discover other food stalls (and beach volley)

4. CREEKSIDE

[caption id="attachment_2355" align="aligncenter" width="800"]creekside food blog best food in dubai mydubai LAUNCHING TURNED INTO A CULTURAL NIGHT[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_2356" align="aligncenter" width="800"]creekside food blog best food in dubai mydubai A TIP. TAKE THE ABRA[/caption]

The Dubai Creek is one of my favorite places to bring any friends visiting Dubai. During summer time, I still drag my friends here even though the weather is dreadful and you'll be soaking in sweat in just 5 minutes of 'standing' (as a tip, don't visit me during summer). But during the breezy months of October until mid-May, the creek is "the" must visit place for those who wants to get away from the typical Dubai skyline and feel/see the old Dubai culture. You can ride the abra crossing Burdubai to Deira and haggle around the souq.

Just recently, Creek Side had its formal launch and welcomed cultural enthusiasts and those who are just looking looking for a place to chill and hang out. What I Iike about this place is how it blended well in the Dubai's Old Town. Using and refitting a traditional heritage house it created a modern space yet respecting its heritage (this subject it my thesis study, that is why I feel in love with this place the moment I saw it.)  The main attraction of this place is how it celebrates art, culture, design and heritage with its various programs and offerings.

Just a perfect place to appreciate the busy creek, watch people, learn about the heritage and get loads of  inspirations passing by.

TIP: Parking is very hard in this area, so it will be better if you will park your car near a metro station and take the public transport. Take the green line metro and go down to Al Ras and ride the Abra from this other side (Deira) and appreciate the beautiful creek surrounded by the richness of the Old Dubai.

5. SPECIAL OSTADI RESTAURANT

[caption id="attachment_2357" align="aligncenter" width="800"]special ostadi kebab food blog best food in dubai mydubai I WILL BE PRINTING MY PHOTO AND PASTE IT HERE[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_2358" align="aligncenter" width="800"]special ostadi kebab food blog best food in dubai mydubai EVERYTHING IS MY FAVORITE[/caption]

When almost all in the list are fairly new, I recently discovered a place with a very long history of serving hearty Persian  meal. An Emirati friend of mine brought me in Special Ostadi Restaurant after our event in the Creekside. If you love walking (and it's not Summer), the food stops number 4 and 5 are relatively close to each other.

The moment I stepped inside, I was fascinated immediately with its very busy decors. If Creekside wants to blend in the environment, this one definitely is trying to stand out. No one can blame them though. As what I was told, it is a family restaurant serving Dubai since 1978. Surely, if you have that long history, you will also brag about it. Its walls are surrounded with photographs of Bollywood stars and VIPs who had a taste of the Special Ostadi Hospitality. All tables are dressed with different currencies from all over the world and several newspaper article clippings hanging on the wall.

Aside from its note worthy marinated kebabs, Special Ostadi Restaurant is also famous for its hospitality. Being a passed-on family business, you can see each member of the family (well just the men), run around serving patrons and greeting them with a joke or fist bump. I always get the french fries treatment (visit this place to find out what I meant).

If you are looking for fun, informal and craving a mouth watering Persian meal, this is the place for you.

TIP: Ask for their house tea (also ask for mint leaves), this is their signature house drinks. I LOVE IT and hopefully you will too.

Location: Khalid Bin Al Waleed, Near Musalla Tower, All Musalla Road

Tel: 04 3971469

6. RIPE MARKET

[caption id="attachment_2359" align="aligncenter" width="800"]Ripe Market food blog best food in dubai mydubai WHEN YOU SEE THIS, YOU KNOW YOU WILL START TO WAVE GOODBYE TO SUMMER[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_2360" align="aligncenter" width="800"]Ripe Market food blog best food in dubai mydubai OUR LOOT FOR THE DAY! YEY WEEKEND![/caption]

One of the best things that I love this season is that RIPE Market is finally open. Last year, it was located in Safa Park but this year, they moved in Zabeel Park (and it is closer to my place now). This year, there were a huge turnout of vendors, artisans and food stalls.

I went to RIPE during their first day of opening and I was overwhelmed with all the interesting booths they have. But, what I was drawn to are the food stalls. They have pastries, grilled sausages, pancakes, ice cream, sandwiches, salads...and a lot of refreshing drinks (fresh coconut juice!!!). The reason why I placed RIPE at the end of my list is that, if you go here, you can create you own list already.

One of the attractions of RIPE is its location. Being in a park makes your visit here relaxing and will make you say "THANK GOD IT'S WEEKEND."While you enjoy munching on all the food you found, you can just sit down on one of the bean bags and listen to a live acoustic performance (or a harpist). While you are busy looking for a good value shopping (maybe a very trendy earrings, or a white washed bohemian home decor, your kids can enjoy the art workshops being offered every week.

If you are a fan of the outdoors and love people watching this is surely a place you will want to visit.

Location: Zabeel Park

Timings: Every Fridays at 9am - 2pm

Do you know other food joints/stops here in Dubai which you think are interesting? Let us know so we can pay them a visit and maybe we can add them in the list soon. ^^

My Dubai Food Blog: Raw Coffee Company. The Ultimate Dubai Coffee Experience

I first saw Raw Coffee Company as a suggested post in my FB account. Ever since, I’ve been curious about it and really wanted to visit and try their coffee offerings. Sadly, because the only info. I got was, it is located in Al Quoz, my not-Al Quoz-friendly GPS mind blocks immediately everytime I am thinking of going to this place.

Good thing, on a sunny Thursday morning, I was assigned to go to our furniture manufacturer and I was excited to see that Raw is directly in front of their warehouse. PERFECT

raw coffee company food blog al quoz dubai uae

Without any hesitation, after finishing my tasks, I went inside and found myself in coffee heaven. If there is a headquarters for hipsters or hipster wannabe, THIS IS IT!

raw coffee company food blog al quoz dubai uae

raw coffee company food blog al quoz dubai uae

raw coffee company food blog al quoz dubai uae

Piles and piles of coffee bean sacks were on display and I am guessing for sale also. The way the warehouse were transformed to create this environment looks so awesome. As an architect/designer, people may seemed to think that creating such environment was easy—they are wrong—-but I must say, for sure they had fun.

raw coffee company food blog al quoz dubai uae

According to their website (cause I didn’t have time to interview them),

”..we (Raw) started off as boot legers, bringing our beans back into Dubai in our suitcases from favourite roasteries around the world.  We love coffee, and we were seriously tired of the sad old offerings available here ~ Raw was born, established in July 2007 to fill the gap in the market for freshly roasted specialty coffee.”

GENIUS!!!

raw coffee company food blog al quoz dubai uae

So start it off, I tried their lunch offerings. They offer a good selections of salads and quiches. As I am on ‘healthy’ eating spree, I ordered a chicken avocado salad.

It’s a mix of pumpkin seeds, fresh avocado, smoked chicken, cherry tomato, mixed lettuce, parmesan cheese, cold pressed extra virgin olive oil ceasar dressing.

To be honest, it was a bit expensive (AED 40) but delicious nonetheless. I love the mix and the tangy salad dressing.

raw coffee company food blog al quoz dubai uae

To add with the healthy touch, every salad is served with a mini gluten free chia bread roll and a mini gluten free multigrain bread roll.

raw coffee company food blog al quoz dubai uae

Now for my coffee, (disclaimer: I really didnt get that much information on what I ordered) I asked the barista on their bestsellers. I said I want dark coffee, strong but smooth. She then told me bout a filtered coffee through a procedure called ‘chemex’.

I think that is why i didnt get that much information because hearing the term ‘chemex’ I blanked out immediately.

According to my research (aka googling):

Chemex Coffeemaker is a manual, pour-over style glass container coffeemaker. The coffee is brewed by first placing the paper filter and the ground coffee in the neck of the flask while heating the water to a boil in a separate vessel. Then moistening the ground coffee by pouring some hot water a top of the dry coffee……and finally, by pouring the desired quantity of water (number of cups) over the ground coffee, and awaiting it to percolate down, through the coffee and the paper filter, into the flask.

raw coffee company food blog al quoz dubai uae

The result of this is a strong and smooth coffee blend. I love strong coffee and this one was really strong. For those looking for a lighter blend or a more creamy one, you can ask your barista about it and for sure they will be very much eager to serve you your special artisan coffee.

I was very happy with my first Raw experience, Although finding it is a bit challenging at first but the trip will surely be worth it….better if you will buy a coffee bean to take away.

Cheers to all coffee lovers out there! We indeed found our new favorite place.

My Dubai Food Blog: A Very Peri Spicy Food Tasting At Barcelos IBN Batuta Mall

Have you ever tried a peri-peri chicken before? The first time I tasted a Portuguese flamed grilled chicken (also known as peri-peri chicken)I made it instantly as one of my favorite chicken recipe of all time (along with Korean Chicken and Chicken Joy).

A spicy flame grilled chicken drizzled with a touch of lemon and dipped with a signature peri peri sauce—ohhlalala. ….I think I made my case.

The reason why I am saying this, last Saturday, I was invited to try the new branch of Barcelos located in Ibn Batuta Mall in Dubai to try their world famous Peri Peri Chicken and other signature dishes in their menu along with a fellow Dubai blogger Ion of www.boydubai.com.

barcelos IBN Batuta Peri peri chicken dubai uae

This is their 2nd restaurant in Dubai. The first was along Sheikh Zayed Road in Sama Towers (directly opposite Dubai World Trade Center).

barcelos IBN Batuta Peri peri chicken dubai uae

To start the night, we were served a refreshing Mango Milk Shake. I have to honest that I am not a fan of anything ripe mango (green mango is my favorite), but I must say, this mango shake is really good. This is actually their bestseller drink according to the branch manager.

barcelos IBN Batuta Peri peri chicken dubai uae

For appetizer we were served with 2 signature dishes, their Chicken Wings and Chicken Liver. Because some people in our table doesn’t go for the spicy option we were served a tangy lemon flavor.

barcelos IBN Batuta Peri peri chicken dubai uae

barcelos IBN Batuta Peri peri chicken dubai uae

The beauty of it, eventhough we all have different preferences and tolerance for spicy food, on all the tables in Barcelos, you’ll have five variants of sauces which you can compliment with anything  from their menu. I added a mix of very peri and mild peri then my food is now perfect! My favorite will be the chicken liver. It reminded me of our local food in the Philippines which is the chicken liver adobo—-just add a lot of red pepper in it.

barcelos IBN Batuta Peri peri chicken dubai uae

barcelos IBN Batuta Peri peri chicken dubai uae

After the delicious appetizers, the star of the night arrived. The peri peri chicken! I must say, the moment it landed on our table, I cant wait to take my share and munch on it. It didn’t disappoint! Haha.

I really love Barcelo’s signature sauces and dips. Aside from being spicy (my preference), it is very rich in flavor and consistency. They are perfect to combine with the Peri-Peri Chicken.  You can partner this dish with spicy rice (as a side dish) or a Protugese roll. Iike it with the roll.

The time that I finished my part, my whole head (hair and scalp) was sweating like crazy—-but still I want more!

Aside from the Flame Grilled Peri Peri Chicken, it was joined with another mouth watering friend. The Chicken Picante. It was my first time to try this dish and I was good. It is sort of their version of a cordon bleu but healthier.^^

barcelos IBN Batuta Peri peri chicken dubai uae

To finish it up, we were served with one of their famous dishes in the menu which is a Chicken Espetada. It is a very big chicken barbeque..of course, marinated with the same peri- peri sauce base. The serving size is good for 2-3 light to moderate eaters. (I love the presentation)

barcelos IBN Batuta Peri peri chicken dubai uae

For the main courses, we were given 2  refreshing drinks the Mint Lemon Juice and Barcelo Sunrise.

As a finale, our meal will never be completed without something sweet on our table. We were served with 2 dessert variants. The Cheesecake and the Chocolate Ganache. This is pretty good thinking that from appetizer to main course I have been munching on spicy food after spicy food. A perfect way to clean my palette and neutralize all the spices that I have been eating.

I can say that I was a good meal. Should I come back here? Definitely yes. Aside from this is a healthier option compared to other fast food chains in the city, the serving sizes and flavors are really right on the money…

I have been a fan of this restaurant since they opened their first branch in Dubai and now, I am happy that they opened another one easily accessible to those who are working around Media City (like me) and Jebel Ali and especially for those who are living near Ibn Batuta Mall.
